Lorne – the wonderful coastal resort is located south of Melbourne and it takes two hours to reach the place by car using the Great Ocean Road. There are plenty of daily coach and rail services from Melbourne which you can avail if you wish to travel through Geelong. Lorne has a variety of attractions for the visiting tourists and there are numerous accommodations alongside the Great Ocean Road which you will notice when you drive through this road.

Driving behind the hills of Lorne is an amazing experience as from “Teddy Lookout”, you can have a great view of the beautiful scenery along the coastal area and the ocean. If you visit the beautiful Erskine Falls, you will surely enjoy the breath-taking landscape and its magnificence. Also, you can visit Otways National Park if you are a natural lover as you can find ancient rainforests, diverse woodlands and striking waterfalls in the Park. You can visit heritage buildings like St Cuthbert’s Presbyterian Church which was constructed during the year 1892. Erskine House, another heritage building is located adjacent to the beach and it was built during 1865 which is also an impressive place to visit. The Ersking House is enclosed by about 6 hectares of gardens and lawns and they even have an accommodation centre with tennis courts, lawn bowls and croquet.

The Pacific Hotel at Mountjoy Parade is another magnificient building which was built during 1879 using about 300,000 bricks that draws many visitors every day. All Saints’ Church of England is also located adjacent to Pacific Hotel was built during 1880’s which is one more heritage building that you can visit to observe the architecture of olden days. Lorne Historical Society’s Museum is situated on the corner of Otway Street and it displays photographs and memorabilia concerning the history and building of the Great Ocean Road.

The Angahook Lorne State Park and QDOS contemporary art gallery are some other places that you can visit to admire art and nature. The gallery has a sculpture garden, exhibition space and function centre with a café. You can walk through coves, cliffs and sandy beaches when you visit the Angahook Lorne State Park. There are deep valleys carved by water falls like Cumberland, Erskine and St George rivers which is an added attraction of this park. If you wish explore all the attractions located at Lorne, you have to spend at least four days at this beautiful place as Lorne there are plenty of places worthy of visiting!
